We successfully funded Camp Tonneau Tents on Kickstarter, and our first production run is officially underway. We’ve refined the design, simplified setup, and upgraded materials—and with our manufacturing partners and suppliers lined up, we’re now awaiting delivery of the final materials.

The Batch 1 Kickstarter orders are scheduled to begin delivering in January/February 2027, with Batch 2 orders estimated to ship in March/April 2027.

Changes & Upgrades

We’ve listened to you.

From concept to prototype to production, we’ve learned a lot along the way. Those lessons gave us the opportunity to refine the design, upgrade the materials, and make CampTT an even better product.

Here’s what’s changing from the prototype to the production model.

  • Upgraded Panels


    We’re upgrading from aluminum composite to recyclable fiberglass foam-core sandwich panels for the top and sidewalls. The result? More strength, durability, and insulation. The 500-lb-capacity top will be walkable, dent-resistant, and far better insulated against heat and condensation. The sidewalls are also twice as thick and insulated, creating a stronger shelter while allowing you to keep gear stored on top of the cover—even when deployed.

  • Stronger Frame & Hardware


    The prototype used aluminum off-the-shelf extrusions. The production model will feature custom-designed extrusions that improve both function and appearance. The gas struts will be enclosed inside the frame, protecting them from the elements and trail hazards while creating a cleaner, more streamlined design. We’re also replacing the interior metal support clips that held the support frame up with soft, secure Quick Fist-style retainers for a safer and simpler solution.

  • Additions & Setup


    A diesel heater port and an integrated rain fly will now be standard on all models.

    We’ve also streamlined the setup and teardown process, cutting setup and teardown time by approximately 30%. The canvas now folds beneath the hard panels for protection, interior tie-downs have been replaced with quick-release latches, and the rear canvas wraps under the tailgate and cinches securely with elastic.

Important Details

Supported Trucks


The Camp Tonneau Tent is designed to fit most body-on-frame pickup trucks from major brands like Chevy, Ford, Dodge/Ram, Jeep, Toyota, and Nissan, provided they have a traditional truck bed box with standard rails.

To ensure proper fit, safety, and performance, your truck must meet the following criteria:

+ A traditional body-on-frame design

+ A separate cab and bed (the bed is not one continuous piece with the cab)

+ A standard truck bed with unobstructed top bed rails. Factory-integrated storage systems—such as the Dodge RamBox—that occupy, open on, or interfere with the top of the bed rails are not compatible with our top-mounted tonneau system.

Trucks That Are Not Supported


In this phase, the Camp Tonneau Tent does not support the following vehicle types:

Unibody trucks or vehicles where the bed and cab are one continuous structure

Trucks smaller than mid-size

Trucks with factory-integrated bed features that occupy, open on, or interfere with the top of the bed rails, where our top-mounted tonneau system installs.

If the bed of your truck is one piece with the cab, or structurally integrated into the vehicle, it will not be compatible.

Examples of non-supported trucks in this first phase include (but are not limited to):

- Ford Maverick

- Honda Ridgeline

- Tesla Cybertruck

- Rivian R1T

- Ram trucks equipped with RamBox storage

- Chevy Silverado EV

- GMC Sierra EV

FAQ's


Is the product shown a prototype or the final production version?

The product shown in photos and videos is our working prototype. The final production model will include refinements and improvements such as faster setup, improved sealing, and additional features outlined in the “Changes & Upgrades” section above.

Do I need to remove my gear to set up the tent?

No. One of the biggest advantages of the Camp Tonneau Tent is that you can keep your gear in the bed during setup and teardown.

Will the Camp Tonneau Tent be load bearing?

Yes! The production model features a load-bearing capacity of up to 500 lbs. Additionally, we will offer optional crossbars with a dynamic load rating of 250 lbs to help you carry bikes, boards, or extra gear.

Can I use a heater inside the tent?

The production model is planned to include a dedicated diesel heater port. Any heater use should always follow manufacturer safety guidelines.

What if my truck ends up not being compatible?

If we’re unable to manufacture a Camp Tonneau Tent for your specific truck, you’ll receive a full refund.
